Got a job message that feels off?
Paste it here: a WhatsApp or Telegram message, an email or an offer letter. We check it for the patterns behind most fake fresher jobs.
Lost money, or shared an OTP or bank details?
Call the cyber-crime helpline 1930 right away and report it at cybercrime.gov.in. The sooner you report, the better the chance of stopping the payment.
What we check
- Any fee: registration, training, laptop, "refundable" deposits or salary release.
- Chat-only hiring: interviews or applications only on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Personal emails: a Gmail or Yahoo recruiter, worse when the message names a big company.
- Offer without an interview, and pay far above normal fresher pay.
- Pressure: "urgent", "today only", "limited seats".
- Task scams: money for liking videos, rating products or "prepaid tasks".
- Codes and documents: OTP, UPI PIN or card details, ever; Aadhaar, PAN or bank details before a written offer.
- Links: a link that doesn't go to the company it names, short links and Google Forms.
These are rules, not a guarantee. A message can pass every check and still be fake, so confirm any job on the company's own careers site. More on staying safe.
