Wipro hiring process for freshers: Elite, Turbo, rounds and preparation
Wipro hires most freshers through its national talent hunt: one online test, then an interview. Here's what's in each and how to prepare.
Last updated 30 Oct 2026
Wipro is one of India's largest fresher employers. Most of its off-campus hiring for engineering graduates runs through a national hiring programme with one online test and one interview.
Programme names, dates and eligibility change from year to year, so use this guide as the map and the official notice as the rules.
Fresher hiring programmes at Wipro
In recent years Wipro has run:
- Elite National Level Talent Hunt (NLTH): the main off-campus drive for engineering freshers, usually hiring into a Project Engineer role.
- Turbo: a higher-level track with a tougher coding test and a higher offer.
- WILP (Work Integrated Learning Programme): for science graduates (such as B.Sc. and BCA), where you work at Wipro while studying for a higher degree that Wipro sponsors.
Check which programme is open for your degree and batch on the official page. The offer letter states the pay for your role.
Where to apply
- Apply only through the Wipro careers site or a link from it.
- Wipro does not charge you to apply, take the test or join. If anyone asks for money, it's a scam. See Spotting fake fresher job offers.
- Test invites come by email. Check they come from Wipro or the test platform named in the notice.
Who can apply
Each drive sets its own rules. They usually cover:
- Degree: for Elite and Turbo, typically B.E./B.Tech and some M.E./M.Tech or MCA streams.
- Graduation year: the batch the drive is for.
- Marks, backlogs and gaps: a minimum score in 10th, 12th and graduation, no active backlogs at joining, and limits on education gaps.
Round 1: the online test
In recent Elite drives, the test has had these parts:
- Aptitude: quantitative ability, logical reasoning and verbal ability.
- Written communication: a short essay on a given topic. Write clear, simple English with a beginning, middle and end. Check spelling.
- Coding: usually two problems in a language you choose. Strings, arrays and number problems are common.
Turbo tests use harder coding problems, so data structures and algorithms matter more there.
Round 2: the interview
If you clear the test, you get an interview, often combining technical and HR questions:
- Your projects: what you built, your role, the tools you used.
- Basics: your main programming language, OOP, DBMS and simple SQL, and operating system basics.
- Simple coding on screen or on paper.
- HR: relocation, shifts, the service agreement if there is one, and documents.
If the offer mentions a service agreement, read it before you accept so you know what it means if you leave early.
A 3-week prep plan
- Week 1: quantitative and logical reasoning, 45 minutes a day, timed.
- Week 2: verbal practice, plus one short essay every other day. Ask a friend to check it.
- Week 3: daily coding practice, then one full mock test. Prepare to explain each project in two minutes.
After selection
Joining dates for big batches can take weeks or months. Keep applying until you have a date in writing. See Offer letter but no joining date and the onboarding wait tracker.
