Accenture hiring process for freshers: rounds, roles and preparation
Accenture hires freshers through a few online assessments and one interview. Here's what each round checks and how to prepare.
Last updated 30 Oct 2026
Accenture hires a large number of freshers in India every year. Its off-campus process has more rounds than most, but each one is short and predictable once you know what it checks.
Dates, eligibility and the exact round order change from drive to drive, so use this guide as the map and the official notice as the rules.
Fresher roles at Accenture
Recent drives have hired engineering and MCA freshers mainly as:
- Associate Software Engineer (ASE): the main fresher role.
- Advanced Associate Software Engineer (or similar names): a higher level for people who do well in the coding round.
The offer letter states the pay for your role, so trust that figure over what you read online.
Where to apply
- Apply only through the Accenture careers site or a link from it.
- Accenture does not charge you to apply, take a test or join. Anyone asking for money is a scam. See Spotting fake fresher job offers.
- Test links and updates come by email. Check that they come from Accenture or the test platform named in the official notice.
Who can apply
Each drive sets its own rules. They usually cover:
- Degree: typically B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, MCA and some M.Sc. streams.
- Graduation year: the batch the drive is for.
- Marks and backlogs: a minimum score and no active backlogs at joining.
The rounds
In recent drives, the process has usually looked like this. Some rounds may be combined or skipped.
1. Cognitive assessment
- English ability: grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension.
- Critical reasoning and problem solving: logic, arrangements, data interpretation.
- Abstract reasoning: patterns in shapes and series.
2. Technical assessment
- Pseudocode: read short code and predict its output.
- Computer fundamentals: basics of networking, security and cloud.
- Common applications: questions on everyday tools like MS Office.
3. Coding round
- Usually two problems, in a language you choose. Strings, arrays and simple maths come up often. Solving both well can lead to the higher role.
4. Communication assessment
- A short spoken English test: reading sentences aloud, listening and repeating, and answering simple questions. Speak clearly and at a steady pace.
5. Interview
- Your projects, your main programming language, OOP and DBMS basics, and simple coding.
- HR questions about relocation, shifts and documents.
Some cognitive and technical sections have been elimination rounds in past drives, so take every section seriously.
A 3-week prep plan
- Week 1: English and reasoning, 45 minutes a day, timed.
- Week 2: pseudocode and computer fundamentals. Trace short programs by hand. Revise what DNS, IP addresses, firewalls and the cloud are.
- Week 3: coding practice every day, then one full mock test. Record yourself answering "Tell me about yourself" and play it back for the communication round.
After selection
Big batches can wait weeks or months for a joining date. Keep applying until you have one in writing. See Offer letter but no joining date and the onboarding wait tracker.
