Capgemini hiring process for freshers: rounds, roles and preparation
Capgemini hires most freshers through one online assessment and an interview. Here's what's in each round and how to prepare for it.
Last updated 2 Nov 2026
Capgemini is one of the biggest fresher employers in Indian IT. Most of its off-campus hiring for engineering graduates runs through one online assessment and an interview round.
Role names, test sections and eligibility change from year to year, so use this guide as the map and the official notice as the rules.
Fresher roles at Capgemini
In recent drives Capgemini has hired freshers into:
- Analyst: the main fresher role for engineering graduates.
- Senior Analyst: a higher role with a higher offer, for candidates who do better in the test, especially the coding part. Some drives have called this track Exceller.
The drive notice says which roles are open for your degree and batch. The offer letter states the pay for your role.
Where to apply
- Apply only through the Capgemini careers site or a link from it.
- Capgemini does not charge you to apply, take the test or join. If anyone asks for money, it's a scam. See Spotting fake fresher job offers.
- Test invites come by email. Check that they come from Capgemini or the test platform named in the notice, not from a Gmail address.
Who can apply
Each drive sets its own rules. They usually cover:
- Degree: typically B.E./B.Tech, and some drives also take M.E./M.Tech or MCA.
- Graduation year: the batch the drive is for.
- Marks, backlogs and gaps: a minimum score in 10th, 12th and graduation, no active backlogs at joining, and limits on education gaps.
Round 1: the online assessment
In recent drives the test has had these parts. Not every drive has all of them.
- Pseudocode: multiple-choice questions where you read short code and say what it prints. Loops, recursion, arrays and basic data structures come up a lot.
- English communication: grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
- Game-based aptitude: short puzzle games that test memory, pattern spotting and logic. You can't revise for them like a normal test, but a few practice runs help you stay calm.
- Behavioural questions: how you would act at work. Answer honestly and consistently. There is no trick answer.
- Coding: for the higher role, one or two coding problems.
Some drives remove candidates after each section, so every part counts.
Round 2: the interview
If you clear the test, you get an interview. It is often one round that mixes technical and HR questions:
- Your projects: what you built, your part in it and the tools you used.
- Basics: your main programming language, OOP, DBMS and simple SQL.
- Simple coding or explaining the logic of a program.
- HR: relocation, shifts, joining dates and documents. See HR interview questions for freshers.
If the offer mentions a service agreement or bond, read it before you accept. See Service agreements and bonds in IT jobs.
A 3-week prep plan
- Week 1: pseudocode every day. Write small programs with loops and recursion and predict the output before you run them.
- Week 2: English practice (grammar and reading) for 30 minutes a day, and a few runs of game-based aptitude practice.
- Week 3: your projects and basics. Prepare a 1-minute answer to Tell me about yourself, then do one full mock test.
After selection
Joining dates for big batches can take weeks or months. Keep applying until you have a date in writing. See Offer letter but no joining date and the onboarding wait tracker.
